Lynch

Kathryn R. Lynch, RN[ret], DNSc, CCRN[alumnus]Trustee

Kathryn Lynch has served as a trustee of the Alice M. Yarnold and Samuel Yarnold Scholarship Trust since 1998.  Currently retired from the practice of nursing, her background includes working in critical care environments as a staff nurse, nurse educator, and clinical nurse specialist in ICU’s, ED’s, and PACU’s and teaching nursing at several universities including Louisiana State University, University of New Hampshire, and Massachusetts General’s Institute of Health Professions.  She received her initial nursing education at Albany Medical Center School of Nursing in 1973 followed by a BSN at Northeastern University, MSN at University of Virginia and DNSc at Boston University.  She was certified as a Critical Care RN in 1979 and was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, the nursing honor society, in 1977. Her main area of interest focused on neuroscience nursing, especially the aftereffect of traumatic brain injuries on individual’s recovery and return to function.

Danforth

William Danford, M.D., Trustee

​Dr. Danford, born and raised in Wisconsin, earned his bachelor’s degree at Dartmouth College, and completed his medical degree at Dartmouth Medical School. After completing residency in Internal Medicine at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Dr. Danford served two years in the National Health Service Core.  He then returned to Boston and completed training in cardiovascular diseases at Tufts Medical Center.

Dr. Danford and his wife chose to settle their young family on the beautiful Seacoast of New Hampshire that quickly became their permanent home.

​

Dr Danford has enjoyed practicing Cardiology at Wentworth Douglass Hospital for more than 35 years. He is excited to help young people enter the healthcare field and is a founding Trustee of the Yarnold Scholarship Trust. In his spare time, Dr. Danford enjoys the game of golf, he is an avid skier, and he is a music enthusiast.  But he is most passionate about spending time with his wife, four children and grandchildren. 

J. Roberts

Julia L. Roberts, Trustee
 

A retired educator, Julia Roberts received her bachelor’s degree in history from the College of William and Mary. She is past president and a long-time board member of a local history nonprofit, has served her town as a trustee of the trust funds for many years, and chairs the New England Heritage Conference held annually on Star Island. Julia and her late husband Steve were neighbors as well as relatives of Sam and Alice Yarnold, and were always impressed by their modest lifestyle, their devotion to each other, and their generosity to friends and family.

R. Roberts

Stephen H. Roberts, Esq. , Past Trustee

The late Stephen H. Roberts was the grand-nephew of Alice M. and Samuel Yarnold and served as a Yarnold trustee from the inception of the scholarship until his death in  February 2024.  Mr. Roberts received his bachelor's degree from Boston University,  his MPA from the University of Connecticut, and his law degree from the George Washington University School of Law. In addition to his practice with the law firm of Hoefle, Phoenix, Gormley & Roberts,  PLLC he served as a NH Circuit Court Judge from 1998 to 2011.
